Rally Obedience (Rally-O)
Rally Obedience is a fun and exciting team sport for dogs and their handlers. In Rally-O, dogs and their handlers navigate a course guided by numbered signs, each of which indicates an exercise that they must perform successfully before proceeding to the next sign. The individual exercises are both fun and challenging. All dogs, purebred or mixed breed, may compete in Rally-O.
Rally-O Level 1 – In this introductory course, all of the novice level exercises…for example sit-down-sit, figure 8, and sit while handler walks around dog…are introduced. Dogs and handlers also work on basic heeling and recall skills. Whether you are interested in competing or just want to spend some extra time having fun with your dog, Rally-O offers a positive, fun environment in which you can sharpen your dog’s basic obedience skills and bond with your dog.
This class meets once per week for six weeks. Cost: $150
Rally-O Level 2 – In Level 2, the skills learned in level 1 are put into practice on actual Rally-O courses. Handlers learn to walk through a course and then run the course with their dogs. As in Rally 1, emphasis is on having fun bonding with your dog while practicing more advanced obedience skills.

Introduction to Clicker Training
What is the clicker? The clicker is an event marker or a conditioned reinforcer. It represents the promise of a reward. Why does it work? The clicker is a precise tool that says “I liked what you did, now you can have a reward.” Think of it as taking a snap shot of the behavior. Clicker training is a wonderful way to teach new behaviors, refine known behavior, and teach tricks. Clicker training teaches your dog to be a thinking, learning, happy student.
This class meets once a week for 6 weeks. Cost: $145
Introduction to Flyball
Flyball is catching on all over the country. Flyball races match two teams of four dogs each, racing side-by-side over a 51 foot long course. Each dog must run in relay fashion down the jumps, trigger a flyball box to release the ball, retrieve the ball, and return over the jumps. The next dog is released to run the course but can't cross the start/finish line until the previous dog has returned over all 4 jumps and reached the start/finish line. The first team to have all 4 dogs finish the course without error wins the heat. Jump height for the team is determined by the smallest dog on the team.
Fit-N-Trim's Introduction to Flyball class offers the opportunity to try out the sport while getting the foundation needed to proceed to the next level. The class consists of an hour of instruction and 15-30 minutes of socialization and clean-up. The class meets once a week for 6 weeks and is limited to eight dogs. We recommend that there be two handlers per dog initially.
NOTE: Since dogs compete unleashed in close quarters, it is important that dogs participating in the class be well-socialized and have basic obedience training. Uncontrollable or agressive dogs will be evaluated and may not be able to continue.

Freestyle Dance
Feel like dancing, but hate the "bar scene"? Then bring your canine partner to our heated indoor facility on Friday nights and learn some moves to dance the night away! This class is for the beginner dance team. We will focus on basic moves such as spins, weaves and variations on heel, set to music. By the end of the session, each team will have put together an individualized dance routine to perform whenever the mood to dance strikes! This is a great opportunity to enhance the bond with your dog in a fun, relaxing atmosphere. The skills learned in class can easily transition to other areas; for example, you can use them to focus your dog when waiting in line at an agility trial or as parlor tricks to entertain family and friends! Don't worry if you are "dance-challenged". We will bring out the best in both of you.
Note that your dog needs to be well-behaved and able to work off-leash. If you use a clicker, it will be very helpful to bring it with you and, as always, be sure to bring LOTS of yummy, soft treats.
This class will meet on March 28th, April 4th, 18th, and 25th, and May 2nd, and 9th. Cost $150

Canine Good Citizen/Therapy Dog Prep Class
The Canine Good Citizen program sponsored by K9 Advantix®, is an AKC certification program that is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test (http://www.akc.org/events/cgc/training_testing.cfm) may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. Tests are given throughout the country. This course teaches the basic obedience skills needed to pass the CGC test. The Therapy Dog prep part of the class prepares dogs for doing therapy dog work in nursing homes and hospitals. Dogs are exposed to the equipment used in these facilities including wheelchairs and walkers and handlers learn general facility protocol. Although this course is not required to take the therapy dog test, it offers handlers and dogs the opportunity to practice the skills they will need to be successful. The first class is an evaluation in which we assess the dog's readiness to participate in therapy dog training. Dogs must be at least 15 months old and have completed Intermediate Manners class or the equivalent to participate in the Therapy Dog program.
This class meets once a week for 6 weeks. Cost : $175 (includes materials, CGC certificate and tag).
