Winter Workshops
Come in out of the cold and join us for our winter workshops! These focused workshops offer a great opportunity to practice specific skills with your dog during the long, cold winter months. All winter workshops are held at our indoor heated training facility at 108 Newburyport Turnpike Rte 1) in Rowley, MA. Class size is limited. Sunday Afternoon Workshops (1:30-4:30PM Fee: $75)
- January 15th - Weave Poles. Understand the ins and outs of teaching your dog weave poles. This novice/intermediate workshop focuses on 2x2’s but will use other methods as well. Instructor: Karen
- January 29th - Jump Skills. In this novice/intermediate workshop, we will practice recognizing and handling 180’s, 270’s, serpentines, threadles and more. Instructor: Karen
- February 12th - Wag-It Agility Games. Come learn to play Handlers Choice, 1-2-3 Class (like Snooker), and Jumps and Tunnels. Instructor: TBD
- February 26th - Contacts. A variety of methods will be introduced so that you can decide which is best for you and your dog and work on the best way to get there. No full-sized contacts will be used. Instructor: Karen
- March 18th - Introduction to Wag It Shadow and Independent Skills. Instructor: Lisa
Friday Evening Workshops (6:00-8:00PM Fee: $50)
February 17th – Weave Poles. This workshop builds on skills from the January 15th workshop. Instructor: Karen

Fit-N-Trim has new class sessions beginning every month. In addition to our ongoing classes, Puppy Kindergarten, Good Manners, Agility, and Rally-O, we offer Canine Good Citizenship/Therapy Dog Prep, Heel and Stay Drop-in Sessions, Breed Handling (for the conformation ring), and Fly-ball. K9 Scent Work for FUN
Use your dog’s natural hunting instincts to train it to locate things like food, toys, and even you. Dogs love to smell things. This class uses this favorite activity of sniffing to help locate items in the face of distractions. This class will focus on 'Scent Games' nose work just for the FUN of it and introduce the groundwork for more serious scent work. Put your dog’s nose to work!! 4 weeks $100, starting Saturday, January 7th at 11:30AM. Instructor is Nadine Perry.

Puppy Kindergarten Grad? Puppy 2 Is For You!

Puppy 2 is a class just for puppies who have graduated Puppy Kindergarten. The class continues to focus on the basic commands that every puppy needs, while adding the distractions that will ensure that your pup is reliable in real-life situations. Some of the skills you and your puppy will work on are: walking on a loose leash, polite greetings, and coming when called…all eventually without using food as a lure. Puppy 2 is designed to help you and your pup through the next phase in your pup’s development, a time when the pup’s instinct to follow is replaced by the need to investigate more. This phase is marked by the puppy’s starting to ignore you and testing to see what it can get away with. We call it the teenage phase and you can be sure you do not want to leave your pup to its own devices at this critical time in its development! (indoors at 108 Newburyport Turnpike
Chiropractic Appointments with Dr. Sue Ferguson Dr. Sue is currently scheduling appointments at Fit-N-Trim. First timers should plan on 60 minutes; follow-on visits are 30 minutes. Please contact Karen at kunabug@comcast.com if you would like an appointment.
Private Lessons
Fit-N-Trim offers private lessons by appointment. Private lessons offer an opportunity to work on specific skills with your dog. Agility sessions with Karen are $35 a half hour and $65 an hour. We also offer Obedience/Behavior and Breed Handling classes for $65 per hour. Contact Karen at kunabug@comcast.net or 978-948-2745 to discuss your needs.
